Factory License
A factory license is mandatory before commencing operations under the Factories Act, 1948. The primary purpose of a factory license is to ensure worker safety. BOCW Registration
BoCW registration is mandatory for any employer of an establishment that employs workers in building or construction work. The Building and Other Construction Workers Act (BoCW) aims to regulate employment and work conditions in an otherwise unorganised sector and provide safety, health and social welfare benefits to construction workers. BoCW registration can be done both online and offline and must be obtained within sixty days of commencing work.

In India, the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, governs weights and measurements, and a business or entity engaged in any kind of selling or distributing packaged goods must obtain a legal metrology license, to operate. Additionally, the export of goods requires a Metrology Certificate from the Metrology Department of Consumer Affairs.
S & E Registration
Shops and Establishment Registration is mandatory for any shop or commercial establishment in India including online stores. While each state has its own version of the Shop and Establishment Act, most legislations have similar provisions. Shops and Establishment Registration is essential to ensure that an establishment abides by the rules and regulations governing working hours, wages and compensation, operational hours etc. An establishment must register for a Shops and Establishment Registration Certificate within 30 days of starting business operations. GST Registration
Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration is mandatory for suppliers of goods and services whose annual turnover exceeds the specified threshold limit.
Importer Exporter Code
For any business or entity looking to import into India or export out of the country, an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC ) is mandatory. The IEC is a ten-digit business identification number issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
FSSAI - State License
For medium-sized food businesses such as manufacturers, processors, storage units, transporters, or restaurants with an annual turnover between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 crore, you’ll need an FSSAI State License. Unlike the basic registration, the State License applies to businesses operating within a particular state and ensures compliance with state-level food safety regulations.
Trade License
Obtaining a trade license should be at the top of your agenda if you’re launching a new business venture. A trade license is a government endorsement authorising a person or an entity to commence a business. It ensures that the individual or entity adheres to the rules and regulations of the municipality, such as working hours, holidays etc. and to further ensure that any trade or commerce being carried out in a particular jurisdiction is legal and ethical under the Law.
